The abandoned historic Crescent Chevrolet building is getting a complete remodel and will become part retail/office space on one side and will be the home of Big Grove Brewery on the other side. New aluminum floor to ceiling windows, new aluminum doors, and 4 large skylights will create a bright, open atmosphere. Brewery is slated to open in July.
Crescent Chevrolet operated at this location from 1931 to 2007. Current building was built in 1968. A 28 foot lit sign was placed on the southwest roof of the building after its construction and became an iconic part of the downtown skyline. Des Moines city council recently approved landmark status for the sign allowing it to remain a part of the newly remodeled building.
